At Drift, we believe your dreams are deeply personal. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our dream journal application.
Our Privacy Commitment
Drift is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your dream entries, personal notes, and journal data are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers or any third parties.
Information We Don't Collect
We do not collect, store, or have access to:
- Your dream journal entries or content
- Personal information such as your name or email (unless you contact us)
- Location data
- Contacts or address book information
- Photos, videos, or media files
- Browsing history or app usage patterns
Local Data Storage
All your dream entries, tags, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device using iOS's secure storage mechanisms. This data remains on your device and under your control at all times.
If you delete the app, all locally stored data will be permanently removed from your device.
Subscription Information
If you choose to subscribe to Drift Premium, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but do not have access to your payment details, credit card information, or Apple ID.
Analytics
Drift does not use any third-party analytics services. We do not track your usage patterns, screen views, or interactions within the app.
Notifications
If you enable notifications for dream reminders or reality checks, these are processed locally on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers.
Third-Party Services
The only third-party service Drift integrates with is:
- RevenueCat: Used solely for managing subscription status. RevenueCat receives anonymized subscription data from Apple but does not have access to your dream content or personal information. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Data Security
Your dream data is protected by iOS's built-in security features, including device encryption when you have a passcode enabled. We recommend keeping your device software up to date and using a strong passcode or biometric authentication.
Children's Privacy
Drift is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
Your Rights
Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it. You can:
- Export your dream data at any time through the app's export feature
- Delete individual dreams or your entire dream history
- Delete all data by uninstalling the app
